Frequently Asked Questions

What is Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT®)?

Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) is a therapeutic approach that combines elements of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, neuroscience and behavioural techniques.

RTT® aims to help you explore the beliefs, experiences and patterns that may be influencing how you think, feel and respond today. By understanding what may be happening beneath the surface, you can begin to develop more empowering ways of thinking and responding.

An RTT® session can take up to 3 hours.

What happens during an RTT® session?

Your session begins with a conversation about what you'd like to change and what you'd like to achieve.

I'll then guide you into a deeply relaxed, focused state similar to hypnosis. From there, we'll explore the thoughts, beliefs and experiences that may be connected to the issue you're experiencing.

We'll work together to understand these patterns and create new, more empowering perspectives.

You'll remain aware and in control throughout the session. You won't be made to do anything against your will, and you can stop the process at any time.

What can RTT® help with?

RTT® may be helpful for people who want to work on a range of emotional and behavioural patterns, including:

  • Anxiety and overthinking
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Limiting beliefs
  • Self-doubt
  • Procrastination
  • Motivation
  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed
  • Unhelpful habits and behaviours
  • Smoking cessation

Every person is different, and your session will be tailored to your individual circumstances and goals.

Do I have to be hypnotised for RTT® to work?

RTT® uses hypnosis as part of the process, but hypnosis isn't what you may have seen portrayed in films or on television.

You remain conscious, aware and in control throughout the experience. You can hear me, communicate with me and choose whether or not to engage with the process.

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of focused attention and deep relaxation, similar to the feeling of becoming absorbed in a book, music or a familiar journey.

Will I be in control during hypnosis?

Yes.

You remain in control throughout your RTT® session. You won't lose control, fall unconscious or be forced to reveal anything you don't want to share.

You are simply entering a deeply relaxed and focused state that allows us to explore your thoughts and experiences in a different way.

How many RTT® sessions will I need?

There is no set number of sessions that is right for everyone.

Some people experience meaningful shifts after one session, while others may benefit from additional support depending on their circumstances and goals.

Rather than focusing on a predetermined number of sessions, we'll focus on what you want to change and what support is appropriate for you.

What happens after my RTT® session?

Your session doesn't simply end when we finish talking.

Following your RTT® session, you'll receive a personalised recording created to reinforce the new beliefs and empowering messages we've explored together.

Listening to your recording regularly gives you the opportunity to continue connecting with these new perspectives and allow them to become increasingly familiar.

I'll also check in with you following your session so you have an opportunity to share how you're feeling, ask questions and talk through anything you've noticed since your session.

Why do I need to listen to my RTT® recording?

The recording is an important part of continuing the work beyond your session.

By listening regularly and committing to listen daily for at least 21 days, you give yourself repeated exposure to the new beliefs and perspectives you've created. This can help you continue to focus on the changes you want to make and reinforce the work you've begun during your RTT® session.

Think of it as continuing to nurture the new story you're creating for yourself.

Will I have to talk about painful or difficult experiences?

RTT® may involve exploring experiences or emotions that are connected to the issue you're working on. However, you are always treated with compassion and respect, and you remain in control of what you share.

You don't need to have all the answers before your session, and you won't be judged for anything that comes up.

My role is to provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space while we explore what may be beneath the surface.

What if I don't know why I'm struggling?

That's completely okay.

You don't need to understand exactly why you feel anxious, lack confidence, procrastinate or find yourself repeating certain patterns before you begin.

Part of the RTT® process is exploring what may be contributing to the way you think, feel and respond today.

You don't need to have the answers. That's part of what we're here to explore together.

Is RTT® the same as traditional hypnotherapy?

RTT® incorporates hypnosis as part of its approach, but it is broader than hypnosis alone.

RTT® draws on elements of hypnotherapy, psychotherapy, neuroscience and behavioural techniques to explore the beliefs and patterns that may be influencing a person's thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Can anyone be hypnotised?

Most people can experience hypnosis, provided they're willing to participate and are able to focus and relax.

You don't need to be particularly suggestible or have a special ability. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention that many people experience in everyday life.

The most important thing is that you're comfortable with the process and open to exploring change.

Is RTT® safe?

RTT® is generally experienced as a gentle and supportive process, but it isn't appropriate for everyone or every situation.

Before working together, I'll discuss your circumstances and goals to determine whether RTT® is appropriate for you. If I believe another form of support would be more suitable, I'll always encourage you to seek the appropriate professional help.

As a Registered Nurse, I take your wellbeing seriously and will never suggest that RTT® should replace necessary medical or mental health care.

Can RTT® replace medication or medical treatment?

No. RTT® should not be used as a replacement for prescribed medication, medical treatment or appropriate mental health care.

If you're currently receiving treatment from your doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist or another healthcare professional, you should continue following their advice and discuss any changes to your treatment with them.

RTT® can be considered as a complementary approach where appropriate.

What happens if I become emotional during my session?

It's completely okay.

Sometimes, exploring the experiences and beliefs connected to an issue can bring emotions to the surface. If this happens, we'll slow down and work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

There is no need to feel embarrassed or apologise for becoming emotional.  Where tears flow, healing grows!

Whatever comes up, you will be met with compassion, understanding and without judgement.

What happens if RTT® doesn't work for me?

Everyone responds to therapy and personal change differently, and I would never want to promise a particular outcome.

What I can promise is that I'll provide a supportive, respectful and personalised experience and work with you to understand what you're hoping to achieve.

If RTT® doesn't feel like the right approach for you, I'll be honest about that and encourage you towards the type of support that may be more appropriate.

There is a commitment to listen to the recording at least daily for a minimum of 21 days that will help reinforce the positive new beliefs and behaviours to propel you towards your goals.

How do I know if RTT® is right for me?

If there's something in your life that you feel ready to change but haven't been able to shift on your own, RTT® may be worth exploring.

You don't need to know exactly what's causing the problem or have everything figured out before you begin.

You simply need to be open to exploring what may be possible.

If you're unsure whether RTT® is right for you, you're welcome to get in touch and have a conversation before booking.

The life you want is closer than you think.

You don't have to keep struggling with the same thoughts, the same patterns, the same ceiling on what's possible for you. The person you're seeking to become is already within you, sometimes you just need help finding them.
